Nairn's, Bridge of Allan - Our Story So Far

In 2019, Nick and Julia Nairn began their journey at 28 Henderson Street, taking over the former "Jam Jar".

Freshly married and moved into the village with their family, they were bursting with ideas, and Jam Jar by Nick Nairn operated for a year generating excitement and foodie praise alike.

But it was time for something bigger...

In February 2020, Jam Jar, Bridge of Allan, closed its doors for the last time. A week later, "Nick's on Henderson Street" was born.

Two weeks on from our fabulous launch, we had to close our doors once again, as national lockdown swept the UK.

Lockdown was used to make plans, big plans, and when we were finally able to reopen in August 2020, we were back in our A-game.

Restrictions wouldn't stop there though, and after a rollercoaster of changing restrictions, by the end of 2020 we were repurposing as a takeaway.

However...if anyone could do takeaway, it was us!

The little buzz of the village despite the national lockdown kept us all going, and drew customers old and new to our door.

When April 2021 came around, we couldn't have been more ready to re-open!

From April to August, our team went from strength to strength. The restaurant flourished, the Bridge of Allan community had a buzz again, and we were so proud to be in the middle of it all.

The summer brought halycon days sipping cocktails and glasses of our new found favourite sparkling wine - Gusbourne!

With fresh food, fun and friends, there was no place better than Nicks on Henderson St.

Sadly, on August 28th 2021, we lost our beautiful Bridge of Allan home in a devastating fire.

We are so proud of the bravery of our whole team, who showed strength we could never have expected, and evacuated a full capacity restaurant in under 90 seconds.

We cannot thank our whole community and beyond for all the kind words and support. We are truly honoured to know such wonderful people.

The newly-named Nairn's is at last reopen. As of July 2023, Nairn's is back in the heart of Bridge of Allan - bigger and better than ever.

With top-of-the-range kitchen equipment ready for a new, purpose built kitchen, coupled with designs by Pat Renson Interiors and the usual Nairn flair, you don't want to miss this.

With Executive Chef Stephen Crawford and General Manager Robyn Stewart heading the relaunch, we're so excited to show you everything we've been working on!
